  • What is Artha Platform and what does it do?

    Artha Platform is an invitation-only platform which aims to create a dynamic space and community for investors to connect and collaborate around due diligence in support of social enterprises in India. The repository and 'space' we created is designed to help develop a network of trust, knowledge and learning with the explicit goal of reducing transaction costs when doing transactions in the region.

    The platform provides enterprises and impact investors the opportunity to connect and aims to facilitate the investment process by reducing transaction costs and easing the due diligence process. Artha Platform does not provide any broker-dealer guidance nor does it provide a space for monetary transactions to take place; all such dealings take place offline.   • Who created Artha Platform and why?

    Artha Platform was originally launched at the initiative of Rianta Capital and the Singh family in order to facilitate better interactions and exchanges between investors, enterprises and other parties working in India. We figured out that too much money and time was being spent on due diligence; our goal is to lower the due diligence and transaction costs associated with investing, in hopes of promoting more capital flows to Indian social entrepreneurs.

  • What can different kinds of users gain from Artha Platform and what do they do?

    Investors: Using the Artha Platform, Investors are granted access to a network of investment opportunities; an active pipeline of debt and equity investment opportunities, third-party service providers, built-in due diligence (DD) templates, and connections with other users in the Platform to explore co-financing and shared DD opportunities.

    Enterprises: Using the Artha Platform, enterprises are able to showcase their businesses to a wide array of investors, while linking prominently to those who have supported them in the past. They are thus granted better chances at raising investment in their business and the possibility to secure equity and/or debt financing.

    Enterprise Support Organizations: ESOs are organizations such as incubators or accelerators who are able to invite Enterprises to register on Artha. Registering with the Artha Platform, ESOs are positioned to promote their portfolio of enterprises and to connect to other key stakeholders in the investment community.

    Third-party Service Providers: Third party service providers are organizations whose business is to work on due diligence, business development, capacity support or a range of other strategic, operational and technical interventions that support investors. They are able to offer their services to support the due diligence proceed by tailoring their services to the immediate stated requirements of the Artha Platform community.

  • I have an invitation email, what next?

    Regardless of the kind of user you are, your registration email contains the unique link you need to register. Click on the link and you will be taken to the registration page. Each registration page is generated uniquely for each user. Do not share this link, as it will not work for anyone else.

  • I am having problems logging in, what do I do?

    You should check for accuracy of your password. Passwords are case sensitive, must have a minimum of 8 characters and can include letters, numbers and symbols.

    You can also click on the “can't access your account?” link to receive an e-mail to reset your password. If you are still having problems logging in, please contact us at info@arthaplatform.com

  • How can I change my password?
    Once a user is logged in to their account, click on "Edit my Profile", and then proceed to the tab "Management team", where you will be able to change your password as well as the rest of your account information.

  • Can I add another user account attached to mine, for my colleague(s)?
    Yes, once a user is logged in to their account, they click on "Edit my Profile", and then proceed to “Add Login", where one can set up connect user accounts attached to the master (original) user profile.

  • What kind of information protection does Artha Platform provide?

    You are welcome to upload information about your business plan, including information you consider confidential (see the definition of Locked Information in the Terms and Conditions), and to allow requesting Investors and other Users to see that information. While we are unable to ensure that other users will not distribute that information, and we are not responsible for the actions of any User with respect to such information, we do enforce an honor code with a promise of expulsion of any user abusing their privilege and access to disseminate information beyond the network. We also do not warrant or guarantee that there will never be a software bug or a hacker attack that will allow unauthorized viewing of material. Enterprises should also be aware that when they accept another User in their Contacts List, such Users will be able to see all information posted in the Enterprises' profiles.

  • How do I edit the information I see on my profile?

    Once logged in, click the "edit my profile" link at the top of your profile under your logo. You can then change any of the information and click "Save" once done.

  • Who can see my profile?

    If you are an investor, only other investors that connect with you can view your profile, although your top level general profile is visible to other investors within Artha Platform. If you are an enterprise support organization (ESO) or 3rd party service provider aiming to offer due diligence, capacity building or enterprise incubation services to the Artha Platform community, your profile is open to all registrants in the network. If you are an entrepreneur, all other user types including investors can see your limited 'high level' user profile while other enterprises cannot.

  • I can't find the 'add contact' button?

    Some users do not have privileges to add other users as a contact. In particular, system-wide access to investors is restricted. Once an investor does show interest and a willingness to initiate diligence on an opportunity, an automatic contact request is extended connecting investor and enterprise. Once this occurs, the channel of communication is opened.

  • How can I send messages?
    Artha Platform has a built-in message center allowing you to keep all of your correspondence in one place within the system. Once you are a contact with a user, you can navigate to your message center from your dashboard and compose messages. You can select any of your contacts to write to, and you may also write to groups.
  • How do I access the Artha Platform pipeline?
    From your dashboard that is visible when you log in, click on "Enterprise Pipeline".
  • What is 'Live Pitch'?
    Artha Platform provides the opportunity to various users to 'pitch' themselves (not unlike launching an online advert) to investors in this closed, curated virtual setting. Enterprises and Third Party users have the option to use this tool, which sits on user Dashboards, allowing both to create a short blurb of content (including text and graphic) which is then featured in turn on the Dashboard of Investors in the network. The goal of this is to provide more dynamism in the community.
  • If I start a due diligence process, am I locked into any specific commitment?

    Artha Platform is designed for flexibility; all steps taken can be cancelled. The Artha team and its associates take no responsibility for agreements and promises made at any level of the due diligence / investment appraisal process. Please see the Terms and Conditions

  • How do I upload documents, videos and images and what type of files can I upload?

    Once logged in, click on Documents on your Dashboard. Then, select "Upload Document" alongside the title for each of the media containers and enter the information requested. Uploading content may take a while depending on factors such as file type and size and internet connection.

    We accept many types of files. Some of the video files we accept are .mov, .avi, .mp4, .wmv, .flv. Image files are .jpg, .gif, .bmp. Document files accepted are .pdf, .doc, .xls, .ppt as well as .docx, .xlsx and .pptx.

    You are welcome to upload information about your business plan, including information you consider confidential (see the definition of Locked Information in the Terms and Conditions.) and to allow requesting Investors and other Users to see that information. We cannot, however, require Users who see your information to agree not to distribute that information, and we are not responsible for the actions of any User with respect to your Information.   • My video doesn't play.
    Once you have uploaded a video, it may take a few minutes for the video to finalize. We need to transcode it to a format usable on the Internet so please be patient. If it is still not working after 5 minutes, your upload may have had an error, such as a small loss of connection during upload. Please try again or contact us.
